ASSISTANT DISTRICT ATTORNEY – Rapid Resolution Program

Rapid Resolution Assistant District Attorney

The Coweta Judicial Circuit District Attorney’s Office has an opening for a “Rapid Resolution” Assistant District Attorney position with a work from home option but requiring one court date a week in Coweta County Superior Court. The position is a Coweta County position, it is full-time, and the salary will be based on experience.

Applicants will be expected to have experience reviewing, charging, negotiating, and trying serious violent felony offenses before a jury. The purpose of the newly created “Rapid Resolution” docket is to target for an expedited resolution the cases of inmates, the low-level cases of offenders interested minimal probation, and the serious cases of offenders interested in accepting responsibility and/or cooperating with the State. The applicant needs jury trial experience to evaluate cases prior to indictment, to determine appropriate charges and plea recommendations, and to communicate effectively with victims and members of law enforcement. However, rather than handle a caseload on a jury trial calendar, the applicant should expect to handle by themselves one court date a week where offenders will enter guilty pleas or have probation violation hearings. The applicant is expected to work closely with a legal assistant, victim advocates, and DA investigators, as well as other members of the criminal justice system.

Applicants should be a member in good standing with the State Bar of Georgia or be a member in good standing with the Bar of another state that is eligible for reciprocity admittance to the Georgia Bar. Applicants selected for hire will be subject to fingerprinting, a criminal history background check, DMV records, and pre-employment drug screening. Employment is contingent upon the completion and satisfactory results of each screening.

The Coweta Judicial Circuit is an equal employment opportunity employer and, in compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act, will provide reasonable accommodations to qualified individuals with disabilities.

Interested applicants should submit a cover letter and resumé through the “Apply Now” link in this listing.
