The Coweta Judicial Circuit District Attorney’s Office has an opening for an Appellate Assistant District Attorney position for our judicial circuit. The position is full-time state position with a salary and will be based on experience. Applicants will be expected to review, interpret and apply legal principles and precedents to difficult legal problems; concisely and accurately communicate, both orally and in writing; prepare, present, and conduct motion for new trial hearings and appellate briefs; establish and maintain effective working relationships with others; and possess a strong sense of personal and community responsibility. Position is eligible to work remotely except for motion for new trial hearing dates.
Applicants should be a member in good standing with the State Bar of Georgia or be a member in good standing with the Bar of another state that is eligible for reciprocity admittance to the Georgia Bar. Applicant must have experience writing appeals.
Applicants selected for hire will be subject to fingerprinting, a criminal history background check, DMV records, and pre-employment drug screening. Employment is contingent upon the completion and satisfactory results of each screening.
